Hi,
I am considering petitioning the court in California to open my adoption records. I was adopted by my mother's mother at birth (and didnt know the truth until last year). My adoptive parents (really my grandmother and her second husband) are both dead, as is my birth mother and birth father.
My birth mother (who I thought to be my sister) died at age 66, and the man she says was my father died at 45, both very young.
I would like to confirm if the person she said was my father really is (on the OBC) and find out the circumstances of his early death for obvious health considerations.
Would the court likely consider this good cause and also since they are all deceased, is it more likely the court will open the records?
Thank you.
Victoria
