My 6 year old daughter wants a dad; how do I respond? There is currently no male figure in the picture. When there is one, she says she doesn't like him and does't want me to see him again. When there isn't one, she says she wants a daddy.
How should I respond?

That's what happens when you decide to have a child without a father.
I feel so sorry for all these kids being raised by single parents and the trend in society (especially by women) to consider it normal and alright to raise kids in a single parent home.
