The letter below was in response to my basic argument that regardless of the circumstances surrounding conception, both parents should be financially responsible for the child. You guys should see the stuff Ms. Alexander wrote to me. I sense a great deal of anger emanating from these two characters. Funny, I don't remember doing anything to them... Anyway, read and comment, you can also follow the URL and see what sparked all this.
Regarding "Child Custody: Where Men hit a Glass Ceiling " (October 7) by Rachel Alexander http://www.american-partisan.com/cols/2002/alexander/qtr4/1007.htm , this came in from the Editor:
Watching all this is somewhat fascinating in that it seems that Ms. Hawkins is the one who had the choice in the first place on whether or not to keep her pants on - period. As a man and a gentleman at that, if I was able to keep my pants on and remain a virgin all the way through high school and through three years in the Marine Corps of all places, and still remain a virgin until marrying, it is within the reach of anyone - especially with my libido the way it is.
In reading your responses to Miss Alexander's articulate positions, I see nothing but the pathetic excuses of one who, like all too many women who see themselves as nothing more than 'professional victims', also possessed of the mindset that see men as nothing more than 'penises with wallets' to be shaken down by either themselves or the state whenever they get the itch.
Regrettably, it is mindsets such as these unfortunately, that make women in this category seen as not much more than human repellent by the genuinely good men that are out there and who are in fact looking for fine and wonderful ladies with whom to settle down, marry and start and raise their families. With a mindset like the one you seem to possess Ms. Hawkins, you do not seem to be in a position to come across one of these good men who are out looking for one of these good women with whom to share their lives.
In a nutshell Ms. Hawkins, grow up, ask your mother for help as she lives nearby, get the additional education and skills needed to increase your earning power, and in the meantime, KEEP YOUR PANTIES ON!!
