Hi... Yes there was a FCH in Akron, also Youngstown, Cleveland, Columbus and one other area in Ohio. Ohio had the most. All of the records were sent to this location which is still open in Ohio...

While there were 4 FCH's located in Ohio, the information given above is incorrect. Records from the homes which have been closed were most likely moved to either their County Health Department, the State of Ohio Health Department, or perhaps their County Probate Court. They were not transfered to the Columbus, OH location. Directions for Youth & Families has closed their adoption program here in Columbus, moving it to Catholic Social Services. We have, however, retained the old records. You can contact us re: FCH and/or adoption records for anyone who was located at the Crittenton Home here in Columbus, OH. If you have any questions, or would like to contact us, you can e-mail me (Melanie Boettner) at MBoettner@dfyf.org, or Terri Power at TPower@dfyf.org. Thank You!
I too am looking for any information regarding the FCH located in Akron Ohio ... around October 13 1966. ** Mother had given birth to a son ... in Akron ( ay City Hospital) , but had stayed at the FCH prior to birth. Family is searching for missing loved ones...
