Hi everyone ...my name is Barbara Lianne Cole (Heptner at time of birth) and I am in search of my son whom I adopted out in 1985 through the Tender Loving Care Adoption Agency in Fort Mill SC. I was at the Heritage House home for unwed mothers at PTL from July 1984-Jan 1985.
I am hoping someone out there will read my post and know the family I am speaking of or some pertinent information about the adoptions that took place from Jim Bakker's ministries back then. Here is the information I know for sure:
My full name at time of delivery was Barbara Lianne Heptner. I delivered in Rock hill,SC at Piedmont Hospital on 1-4-1985 at 9:51am on a Friday morning. I named the baby Kristopher Blake which he may still have that name. Possible adopted last name of Mccall, McCally, McCallum, McCuller, McLellen, McCullar, something along those lines. I am told by Christian Family Services that I am VERY close in the last name. Baby Boy Heptner would now be 19 yeras old. His adoptive parents are named Doug and Linda. They were foster parents before this adoption took place and may still be. They had fostered 14 children prior to adopting my son. Doug was 28 in 1985 and Linda was 26. Doug has dark brown hair and blue eyes and was 5'11" 155 lbs. Linda has blonde hair and green eyes and was 5'4" and 125 lbs. Doug was an apprentice pressman and probably is a journeyman pressman (printing field of work) to date. Linda was a cosmetologist but became a stay at home mom when they adopted their first son Andy. Andy's adoption did not finalize until he was around 4 years old and I know that Doug and Linda had contact with Andy's birthmother until Andy was at least 2 years old. In 1985 Andy just turned 5 and started school at a private Christian school in their area. Andy would now be around 24 years old and probably graduated from a private Christian school somewhere. Doug and Linda and family had sold their mobile home and purchased an old farmhouse they placed on their 5 acres ad renovated. They had many animals (chickens, etc.) and the property is close to a lake. Their mailing address in 1985 was on a rural route and may still be to date. The rural route mailing addresses were changed starting somewhere around 1987 to where the street name was added. Doug liked to fish and probably still does with his sons. Doug and Linda are a very christian family and probably involved in their church. Doug and Linda may have adopted other children as they mentioned they were interested in having a large family. Linda was from a very large family and is especially close to a younger sister.
Please check with friends that may have worked at PTL in Fort Mill, South Carolina at the time, old news articles for that area that may have talked about where the babies mostly went at that time, family
living in the area, ANYTHING! No information is to small.
If anyone out there has any information please contact Lianne at cre8iv_Li@yahoo.com. Thank you in advance and God Bless!
Lianne Cole (Heptner)
