My brother and I are looking for our 1/2 sister, born in CA (most probably southern CA) in 1964. She is a 1/2 sibling on birthmother's side. Unfortuately we don't have an exact birth day.
I am female, born 1961 and my brother was born 1963. We were relinqueshed in San Diego in 1964, adopted in 1965. Our birth mother was hoping to divorce our father and marry the father of our 1/2 sister. We don't know if she kept the child or not, or even married again.
Our birthmother was born in MO in 1945. She was of Irish descent. We hope and pray every day that our sister has a good life, and would love to get to know her.
Dear Allmox,
I have posted a private message to you as I would like to discuss this further. Thanks.

Welcome to the Search and Reunion Message Board!
It sounds like you were born in Los Angeles County but that the adoption was finalized in San Bernardino County.
Have you contacted the adoption agency that handled the adoption to get more information about your birth parents? It would be important to know, since two birth names were mentioned, if your birth parents were single or married. Do you have paperwork with the name of the adoption agency on it? If so, contact that agency and request your "non-identifying" information about your birth parents from your adoption file.

The agency that handled my adoption was sanbernardino county welfare and social services department.yes it does give me a few clues but still no locations or names to go on.However it did tell me that both parents familys are from california.

If your non-id is only a year old then you have the most current informatoin from your adoption file that helps in your search. Did the non-id give the marital status of the birth parents? Did it give the ages and genders of any brothers or sisters of the birth parents? Did it give the ages and occupations of the birth grandparents?

How Can you research births associated with your mother's name?
The California birth index is on line at the Vitalsearch website. You can search by birthmother's maiden name, date of birth, last name, county of birth, gender, etc.

Dear Zarb:
I was curious to find out if you and your brother ever found your 1/2 sister...I wrote to you awhile ago and then I never requested all of the information needed from California so I could share it with you to see if I am related. I can't help but think about your post and who you are looking for so I am going to request information very soon.

Hi Allmox,
Please request your info soon, as it takes about 6 monthes to get it. We have not found our sister on mother's side yet. I do know our mother kept her for at least a little while...so if you were adopted at birth we may not have a match. I am pretty certain our sister was born in San Diego. Thanks for getting back to me! Good luck.
