How important is the experience factor...having people who are older and more mature as parents?
I think it depends on the age and the needs of the child and what the expectations of the parents are. I currantly have two children in my home who I could not have handled ten years ago without the experience I have now. I also have a few that would have done well either way.

Older doesn't always mean more experienced. I have been working with children for as long as I remember - babysitting, coaching, etc. Since I have two younger brothers, my mother taught me child care basics from the time my first brother was born.
I have been a foster parent to ten children and have adopted two wonderful boys with special needs. Even though I am in my early thirties, I feel I am better equipped to raise my children than someone that is older, but less experienced with children.
Remember, we don't get to pick when we were born!
