My husband is American, I and my child are Australian. We live here in Florida and my husband wishes to adopt my child. The father has had no contact since shortly after birth, no child support etc. Has anyone had experience with this? Attorney has told us about "diligent search" which only seems to apply to US residents. Would love any help you can give.
