Has anyone had experience with JCAN with a non-special needs adoption? I recently registered, and I'm not quite clear on the process.
Thanks!

JCAN is not an agency. It is just a referral organization. When they hear about a Jewish child who needs a home, they look at their database of families and contact those who have specified interest in a certain profile. For instance, in our case, we were open to any special needs situation and we were contacted very quickly. We now have two children who were referred through JCAN.
In your case, I assume you specified that you did not want a child with special needs. I would guess that means there will not be many referrals from them, as most of the kids have one sort of special need or another (just being an older kid is a special needs case).
I have found it a pleasure to work with Steve at JCAN. He has helped me with a number of things. Remember, too, that they get no fee. This is a labor of love by Steve and his wife because they believe Jewish kids need Jewish homes.
Good luck, Yael
