birth mother named me Mandy Lee Ann 1976

how did you find out she had written the letter and how did yo get it?

I called the children's home about 5 years ago and asked if they had any information they could give me about my birth mother and they told me they did. They could only tell me basics like hair color, eye color, best and worst subjects in school etc.. They then told me that they had a letter on file that she had written me just in case I ever called about her. They mailed the letter to me. It was wonderful.

On May 6th 1976 at University Hospital in Jackson Mississippi I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl I named Mandy Lee Ann that was "gifted" through the Mississippi Children's Home Society. I was allowed to write a letter to her to be held until a time when she may search for information about her birth mother. I have registered and seached for years with many adoption type forums on the web to no avail, until now......

i will continue to check your post and send you email as long as it takes to make contact. after 28 years i ain't givin up now!!

It's been a long time since I checked this website for any replies. I can't believe that we found each other. I want to thank you for the letter that you left me. I can't tell you what that means to me. I keep the original locked away for safe keeping and a copy at home. How have you been for the last 28 years? This is just so strange, I'm not even sure what to say. I hope you are well. I have had a wonderful life and I have you to thank for it. You are truly a special person.

you can't imagine the joy i feel in my heart. you chose the perfect words. all i have ever hoped to know is that you are happy, healthy, loved and have had a good life! if someone had told me 28 years ago that there would be a place such as this to share information i wouldn't have believed it. the miracles of modern living. i am so happy for you. thank you for affirming that i made the right choices. you have no idea the comfort this gives me.

I was so glad to see you responded so quickly. If you are comfortable with it, I would sure like to know how you are. Do you have a family? What do you do for a living? etc.. I hope that I am not being too pushy. I guess I am just a little curious.

i would love to tell you about myself and my family. i sent you several private messages since the beginning of these postings. i wonder if you have read them. i also sent emails to the link you have posted in your profile but i was afraid that maybe the address had changed. i have a son (25) and daughter (20), a daughter in law, 2 grandchildren (7 & 3 1/2) that all live in jackson. and i have dog named lucy. i work in sales in the medical industry. i sent you some personal contact information in the pm's. and by the way.....i don't consider you pushy at all. i really want to share information. i would love to know about you. do you have your own family? what do you like to read? what your interests are. who you are really. i would really love to know you, because i know in my heart you are a beautiful person and have touched everyone you have known. i have cherished your memory every day for the last 28 years.

I never got any of the private messages. My e-mail address has changed since I first signed up for this website. I have not received any contact info. either. It sounds like you have a wonderful family. They do not live far from me. I have a sister, 30 years old, whom is also adopted. My parents are still alive and well. I was married February 26, 1999 to a wonderful man. He is a computer tech with his own computer consulting business. We just recently relocated from TN to MS so he could go back to school to finish his undergrad. and go to Law School. I am currently working for an Oil, Mineral & Gas company that is in town buying leases on land for drilling. This is probably just a temporary job. Anyway, Mike and I do not have children yet. We will start trying soon. We also have a dog. She is a black lab named Pepper. She is 10 and spoiled rotten. I do like to read when I get a chance. I love James Patterson and Nicholas Sparks. I saw in your profile that you live in LA. I have cousins in New Orleans and I have some close friends in Baton Rouge and Shreveport. I am glad you want to share info. because I was really worried that this was just the end. I hope that it is the beginning instead. We need to get in the chat room sometime so we can just chat back and forth. You have no idea how I feel right now knowing that I am typing a letter to my birth mother. Maybe someday we can get together, if you feel that is an option.
