Hi. I am new to this forum. I am wondering if anyone can tell me the names of adoption agencies in Cherry Hill, NJ. Thanks so much. Bridget
Hi!
The Family Options Adoption Agency I found is located in Red Bank. Is there another one? I emailed that one for information on their domestic program. Any other thoughts, feelings or comments on Family Options would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!
Peace,

Mom2Two,
Actually, we're signed up to go to their information meeting next Thursday. Last year they had a huge waiting list, so we decided to try a different agency. But we've given up on that other agency and are interested to check out what Adoptions From The Heart has to offer. Thanks for the good review!
Peace,

Hi Zoeskymom,
From what we could put together, our daughter's birthmother placed with Golden Cradle about 5 yrs ago ... give or take a year? It was hard to know what the real story was...but from what we know she placed with this agency and her birthdaughter is now in PA...BTW, I read on through some of the later messages. My heart goes out to you with your experience with the agency . But as I see our delightful daughters and the wild rides we and they took before coming together...I can't help but see divine intervention!

Yes,Lynette is still there and she is wonderful! Hopefully it is a short wait because sometimes I get a little nervous when the phone rings.
Gary and Nancy,
Yes,Family Options is in Red Bank. According to FO,they usually have 18-22 couples in portfolio and place 15-18 children a year. They explain everything in detail and are concerned about the adoptive family as well as the birthparents. They provide counseling for both. The longest wait on a placement was 2 1/2 years and the shortest I believe was 2 weeks. Now that we are in portfolio, they said that we could recieve a phone call saying for example that a 16 yr. old who is 6 months pregnant has picked your portfolio or they could say come pick up your child.
They give alot of info on if you want to put ads in the paper, networking, etc. The head of the agency herself has adopted 2 children.
I wish you nothing but good luck!

AMOM2WO, we did an identified adoption through adoptions from the heart that ended in disruption. They were so sympathetic in our case. THe director even got involved to try to help this adoption go through. I found the director to be very kind and experiences. The only problem is that the sw we had was very inexperienced and has since left. There are 2 sw's there now that have been there for awhile. We should be in the books by the end of the year(hopefully sooner) and hope to be matched very soon after. The agency will work with us to try to ensure a less risky placement. There is a girl there named Jan who I find to be very informative and that's the one I only deal with now.
I hope we are as lucky as you are and get matched quickly.
DId you feel the transistion was smooth and did you feel you and the bp's got enough counseling? ALso, how is the open adoption experience and how open are you if yo don't mind talking about it. Dh and I only want to do the picture letter thing and maybe the yearly picnic. I'm not cool with them coming to my house or anything.

AMOM2TWO,
Yes we are working with the Cherry Hill office. I told them I only wanted Helena. SHe knows what she is doing. Believe me after that last experience I want noone without experience and the agency is completely respectful of that. I got to tell you when things got hairy Mary Daly stepped in and she was absolutely wonderful. She is such a professional and handled the situation beautifully(well as much as it could have been).
I am so anxious about the video and the profile and all that stuff. Did you include pictures of your current daughter in your updated profile? I wasn't sure what to do.
How did you ** pick you? Was there some special thing in your profile that she liked( or the bf)? Just curious.
Could we maybe help support one another through this?
How long have you been waiting for the second referral?

BBJAX,
Just thought I'd explore, with the remotest of expectations, if we had any connection!! Based on the time of placement of your dd's birthmom's first placement, we do not. Would have been exciting and a bit spooky if somehow we had miraculously crossed paths!! It would have been great for our dd's too! Good luck with your search.
We went through Golden Cradle, but only for a HomeStudy.

We're working with Adoptions from the Heart also. We start our homestudy classes on Oct. 15 so I will have more to report then.

We adopted internationally (Guatemala) and went through Jewish Family & Children Services. I can't say enough about them - they were wonderful to work with and I would do so again in a heartbeat.
