Well my ultimate dream finally came true. After much hesitation of contacting my daughter after i located her, i finally built up enough strengh to write a letter. I only re-wrote the letter about five times before it finally sounded good enough to send. On February 15, 2003....(My other daughter's 13th birthday), i received a phone call from my daughter Kristin whom i hadn't seen since she was 4 days old. Talk about happiness, fear and anxiety all wrapped up in one. It was the best anticipated phone call i've received. We laughed, cried and just asked all kinds of questions. We talked on the phone for two hours, it was amazing. We finally met in person a week later not telling each other what we looked like. The moment that our eyes met it was like Niagra Falls!! But in a good way. Come to find out she has always wanted to find me from the time that she could remember.
She's always known that she was adopted. She has such a great spirit and her family are the best. I have never met anyone like them, they are very unique and an inspiration to be around.
We have all come together like one big happy family. I feel that i have blessed to have had her even for a short while, and i am even more blessed to have her and her family in my life. We have such a great relationship together and she's so happy to have found her sisters and her extended family. My husband asked me after i found her if i feel complete, i truly do.
I wanted to share my story in hopes to inspire those out there who are still looking. Never give up, my story is truly one that i never thought would ever come true. We are living proof that dreams do come true. Good luck to those out there who are still searching, may you find the loved one you are looking for.
