Corbin from Bulgaria

from Bulgaria

Corbin was born in December 2002 and is healthy. His development is on target for his age.

Corbin is a sociable, active boy who easily participates in conversations and seeks contact with others. He enjoys group games, including soccer, and has a competitive side. His self-confidence and self-image are good. Corbin wishes to be a leader among his peers and looks to older children and adults as role models.

Corbin struggles to control his emotions in situations of frustration and may sometimes react with verbal or non-verbal aggression. He seeks adult support in mediating certain conflicts. Corbin desires the attention and approval of adults, but often tests the limits of acceptable behavior and rules.

Corbin attends school where he would benefit from being better motivated for his academic work. He shows good focus, memory, imagination and is able to analyze, summarize, classify and understand causal relationships.

Corbin hopes to be adopted and has a positive attitude toward the future.

Update January 2017: Corbin continues to be a very healthy, typically developing boy. Our in-country representative describes him as smart, honest and determined with very good verbal skills. He communicates well with his peers and adults and likes to be noticed, respected, and encouraged. Corbin loves sports, especially soccer. He can be easily distracted and shies away from tasks or games that involve concentration and memory. Currently in 7th grade, Corbin has some academic gaps and often lacks motivation; he prefers other activities over school work. Corbin dreams of being adopted and having a family of his own.
