Sierra from Texas

Sierra is a sweet young girl that lights up the room with her bright smile. She loves spending time with family and being part of the activities in the home. Sierra is a child with special needs. She is resilient and continues to want to learn to be as independent as possible. Sierra is diagnosed with Autism. She is also diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Sierra is a wheelchair user and therefore has limitations in the ability to perform the activities of daily living. She enjoys going on car rides with her family and attending family functions such as sporting events. Sierra also likes watching and playing with toys that make noise and have lights. She loves to watch a good movie and have her back rubbed. She may not be verbal, but she is able to get her point across to those around her. Sierra indicates understanding when she is spoken to and responds in conversation. She thrives in a calm environment and enjoys quiet moments at home.

Sierra will thrive in a family where she is the only child in the home. Sierra's forever family will be committed to caring for her for the rest of her life. Her family will be strong advocates who will help her become the best she can be. Sierra will require constant supervision and assistance. Sierra will need lifelong assistance in performing daily living skills and self care. Her family will be willing to transport her to all necessary appointments and will open their home to all support services staff for in-home care that Sierra will require.
