Joshua Astor and Adoption
Biography
1966-
English club owner
Astor is the birth son of Joe "Gannex" Kagan, friend of the British prime minister Harold Wilson, but was adopted aged three by his step-father, Michael Astor, MP (one of the wealthy Astor dynasty). However there was a custody dispute and he actually remained a ward of court all through his childhood. Although he had no contact with him until he was 19, Astor always knew who his birth father was. His adoptive father died in 1980 when he was 13.
After being expelled from Eton for using drugs he spent a few years drifting, including more drug problems, but he now owns a private club in London.
