This action packed story tells about a toddler who lands on Earth from a planet called Krypton, that was destroyed. He is adopted by a Kansas farmer and wife who names him Clark and loves and cares for him. As he grows up he learns that he is different from humans due to superhuman abilities. His parents share the facts that they know when he came to them. Yearning to understand who his birth parents are and where he comes from, he goes on a journey. Clark discovers his identity and destiny to help the people of Earth. He discovers that he can use his powers for good and save mankind.

This superhero movie has symbolism all throughout the film. It demonstrates how an adopted child often loves his or her adopted parents but still needs to understand where they come from (even if they love their home and family). By doing this they are able to accept themselves, know their genetic background, and the traits that are often inherited from birth parents.
