Curtis James Jackson III, also know as 50 cent, (July 6, 1975 to present) was born in South Jamaica, NY. His mother gave birth to him at age 15, then died eight years later from fumes in a closed apartment. After which, he moved to his grandparent’s house with his eight of his aunts and uncles. He was then raised by his grandparents.
Jackson’s youth involved boxing and selling drugs, but he was caught with guns at school at age 16 and sent to a correctional boot camp. When he was 21 years old, he began rapping in his friend’s basement.
His most popular albums are Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2003) and The Massacre (2005), and his most popular song is “In Da Club” followed by “Candy Shop” and “21 Questions."
