Biography

An oblate, Heiric entered the monastery of St. Germanus of Auxerre at the age of about seven. Except for some periods away studying at Ferrières and Soissons, he remained there, teaching and writing until his death. His most influential work was a life in verse of St. Germanus.

His pupils included Remigius and Hucbald, themselves leading teachers in France.
