Attention Panama Adoption Seeking Parents:
Most of the Agencies you are/will get in touch with more than likely will have you waiting over more than a long period of time for a child and most agencies drill you out of cash. Who could put a price on a child? We have a Group/Private Organization for Panama/Philippine Children in specific Philippine because of the large request for Filipino/Panamanian Children. You can contact the Manager at: dmx2k000@hotmail.com, Who could give you insight of a Non-Profit Organization Adoption Service for those seeking Panama/Philippine Children. Dont let any agency jip you!
Thank You and God Bless!!!

Hi all!
Many have asked about the post on the Big List that was less than favorable about a certain agency. I didn't feel comfortable copying it here, so I contacted the poster for permission etc. Here's what she has given me permission to post:
"In our opinion, Commonwealth misled us with respect to what they told us prior to our sending an application and fee. They told us initially (during multiple phone conversations) that they could match our request for age/gender for their Russia program. After we sent money, they told us they couldn't do what they had promised over the phone. They have refused to refund our money. We wanted an agency that we could trust, and one that would advocate for our wishes. It was clear to us that we couldn't trust Commonwealth, and it was unbelievable that they wouldn't refund our money despite their verbal promises. We changed agencies, but lost both time and money as a result of Commonwealth."
She has also said that she can be contacted via email for further questions and explanation. Anne Davidson-Mundt <mamundt@earthlink.net>
Understandably, I want to take myself out of the middle of this.:)

Hi everybody!
For Jennifer and anyone else who hasn't decided on an agency yet, I'd just like to add to the nice things I said about World Partners in my earlier post.
I got my Panama adoption manual from them today. I am amazed at how thorough and informative it is. There are sample documents of everything, not only dossier papers, but even sample copies of things like the tourist visa cards so that you will know what to expect. There is also all kinds of advice, so detailed that they even recommend which line to stand in when you go through customs in the Panama airport. They have really researched this.
A++ to WPA! I'm really excited now!

As far as where everyone is in the referral process, we are one huge step closer! I can't say enough about the Atlanta BCIS offices. My husband and I drove up to Atlanta today to be re-fingerprinted before he goes back to Kuwait. We arrived at the downtown office at 6:30am (an hour before it opened) and were out the door by 9am, with a same day appt. to be re-fingerprinted. So we drove to the fingerprinting office (11 miles away) and we were completely done with the entire ordeal by 10am. We had thought it would take us all day to convince someone to help us etc. We even were able to schedule a last minute follow-up meeting with our social worker yesterday morning, and get that out of the way. (Our homestudy is over a year old and we needed to get it changed to Panama. ) So....hopefully we are really close.

My DH and I are currently going through commonwealth and we feel we are having a very good experience. I truly feel each agency will fit a person differently, I think when you choose an agency go with the agency that fits and feels right. We have submitted our dossier and are now waiting for our homestudy to get approved in our state and than we are ready to go.l
Good luck to you all,
TanyaB
We have decided to go through CAII as well. The fact that they will work with us to bring home 2 younger children from Panama is really important for "us". Thus far, I have communicated with them often and they have been very prompt and professional in getting back with us, but more importantly they have been upfront about the newness of the program. We will be faxing them our app. this week so that we can be "approved" before we actually send in our app. and $$. We will also be submitting our I-600A form this week. Our homestudy is scheduled for the end of the month.
Wishing everyone TONS of luck!!

There have been some question on Panama referrals and the length of time. I don't think any agency at this point can commit to referral times in Panama. We are working with Commonwealth and our translated dossier was turned into the Panama Ministry of Adoption on July 11th. We were told to expect 1-3 month wait.
There are currently only 2 complete dossiers in Panama at this time through Commonwealth. I don't believe any other agency has dossiers in country. The first couple should be going back to Panama in August to finalize their adoptions. It appears that Panama will probably require two trips.
I'll keep you posted on the process as we receive our referral.
