I'm looking for some information on a step-parent adoption. I have been married for 9 years (this August) and my 10-year-old son asked my husband to adopt him. He is afraid that his fahter would come and take him away from my husband if something happened to me. I guess that we are all concerned about that.
We have recieved a packet of papers to fill out, but the questions are very complicated. How could I get some help regarding this matter?

You can have a paralegal do it for about $600 or you can try buying Nolo Press's books called "Step-Parent Adoption" - I recommend having a paralegal do it does your sons father have any contact with him? If so, that could be a problem
