Hi Everyone:
What kind of Parenting books are you interested in?
Wouldn't it be great if there was a parenting book that told a simple plan for having your children unconditionally love you forever? LOL. :)
Please post the types of Parenting books that you have interest in and I will mention to our Parenting Section Moderator, Nancy. http://forums.adoption.com/f501.html to come on by and recommend some.
If you have read some parenting books please share which ones you have read and how you felt they were of value!
Thanks so much everyone!!!!
I personally found the Baby Book, Nutrition Book and Discipline Book from Dr. & Martha Sears to be most helpful. That and "Taking Care Of Your Child" by Robert Pantell.

Hi Kellster:
I read "How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk" also. I really got a lot out of that book. I read it before I had kids in a parenting class and I find again and again that is has been helpful in staying close with my kids that are now teens.
It is a book that gives you some specific dialogue and really helps parents to be better parents.
Thanks Kellster for reminding me of that book. I recommend it to parents of pre-teens and teens.
How old are your children Kellster?
HI Sabra,
I agree- that book really guided how I speak to my children on a daily basis- it works! (Most of the time, anyway! LOL). My kids are 8, 6 and 4 1/2. Yes, our house is "busy", but that is the best kind of busy, right?:)
I would love to hear more about the parenting books other parents found useful- we are all parents or parents-to-be- this is definitely the toughest job on earth- and we can learn a lot from each other!
How old are your kids, Sabra? Any other books to recommend?
