I placed my daughter in an open adoption about 4 years ago, though private adoption. I remember signing something giving the adoptive parents legal custody of my daughter but I don't think I ever signed adoption papers. Their lawyer told me that I had 6 weeks to change my mind. I had this adoption in Idaho. I recently found out that the judge that did the case went to church with my daughters adoptive parents and I also found out that I need a lawyer other then my daughter adoptive parents lawyer. Is there any possible way that my adoption was botched, The judge didn't step down and I told the adoptive parents I wanted to have them as legal guardians until I made up my mind completely. I know that it is 4 years later but I just need to know if i have a chance or should I just give up???

This post may be too old now but if your still reading this....what you probably signed was a paper giving up your rights as the mother...if that's the case you better get a real good lawyer to fight fraudulent actions....that's the only suggestion I have. I have become very paranoid of certain situations due to my own circumstances. Because of what you posted I seem to think there may have been some type of scam going on. Sorry for the trouble you are experiencing...and the best of luck to you.
