Looking for low cost AA Adoption, I hear that there are so many AA children needing homes, Here we are . Also I know one of the problem a lot of AA couples are not adopting because the fees are so high, There are a lot of AA couples at my church wanting to adopt, but just cant afford the high fees. Is there an agency that will work with the adoptive parents on the fee let them make monthly payments, or when tax time come after they adopt use that money to pay the rest of the balance owed? What about the children who need these loving parents that are so willing to love them, but just dont have a lot of money, I know agency need the money to pay for their bills to but, work with the adoptive parent on the fees, set up a payment plan. Give the children a chance to a forever home and not to be set aside due to lack of money. What about LOVE
God Bless
i know that it is very common that you would like to find low cost but from exp its not a good thing we have had two failed adoptions looking for low cost and we truely regret that choice because it has cost us more that it would have it we would have went with a more costly situation and also never i mean never if you are aa dont pay in advance we are stuck with this one agency and get calls weekly of babies that were left at hospitals but we are unable to get them because our money is tied up with this one agency that are horrible but we are stuck and i mean stuck with them and its gotten so bad that their fees have raised so they are requesting even more money from us to match us again their fee was 9000 and so far we are out of 14500 and still have no baby and they are asking an additional 4500 for a bmom that they have now every bmom they present us to have picked us but they cost to much this agency is so low that they let us talk to the bmom and once there is a conection they tell us well her expenses is more when you try to be cheap it really isnt i hate it because i reseached adoption for two years and got caught up and it has been the worst mistake of my life a very costly one toothings that seem to good to be true usely are they will tell you any thing to get your money be very careful please they are no to many aa adoptive parents out there

Oh my goodness, Shakira, what a scam! We lost a similiar amount of money on failed adoptions, but the fault was not with the agencies (or us either). And to think what you're trying to do is give a loving home to a little child. I wish I knew of a way for you to get your money back so you could pursue an adoption with a reputable agency. There are some out there. Your story is heartbreaking.
Shakira's story is all too familiar. The main way to avoid this type of thing, is to NOT deal with agencies or attorneys that ask for big money up front. By paying this, as she states, it 'ties the couple up' to one place. Adoption, as Blackberrymama has stated, can be done with much research and such. It can take a lot of networking and time...but it can be done.
The trick is not to get caught up into entities that will not give back money if the adoption falls through...or do not ask for big deposits of money...or the one that really frosts me, "the money rolls over into another situation"!!!!! This is their way to using your money, giving you promises, and you....are...stuck when a great situation is presented to you by another entity...because your money is only usable with the 'rollover agency'.
Be selective. Try not to let fast-talking lip service make you think that 'this agency can find a baby faster for you'...because in the end, it is the birthparents who select.....usually not them. Try not to let any cw or attorney (and we'll not even go into facilitators)......who promise they'll find a baby for you soooo quickly.
Yes, some find their baby faster than others. Yes, it's hard to wait.....but the loss of money is only that. There is nothing to show for it....but the hope through experience.
Keep checking and asking and questioning about resources and financial help. Adoption is possible...not necessarily easy...but it's possible.
Best of luck in your endeavor.....
Sincerely,
Linny
we adoptied through the county of san diego a AA baby.

good luck!
Shakira,
I am so sorry for what you are going through. I can't even imagine the pain and heartache.
The agency we used did require a portion of their fees up front but it made sense to pay for all the work they were doing for us. Plus we went to an orientation where they discussed the fee schedule in detail and explained how everything is very up front and there is never a situation of "hidden fees" etc...I felt very comfortable with their openness regarding the money. Their contracts were very well written and we were given time following the orientation to review them with a lawyer or whatever before signing on and making the deposit. Be wary of agencies who aren't open to talk about the money, it's the ugly part of adoption but it's necessary to be open and honest!
I hope these agencies swindling people out of money are being reported to the BBB and especially their state licensing boards. It seems absolutely ridiculous to me that they could raise their fees and demand more money from families already in their program.

Hello we are looking to adopt again, two years ago we were blessed to adopt from a friend, now we are back trying to adopt another AA child to add to our family if anyone knows of ANY low cost agencies/situations PLEASE LET US KNOW..
God bless :grouphug: :cheer:
Our agency is a flat fee with no added B-mom expenses. You pay a small fee upfront and then the rest when matched. If it fails the agency eats the b-mom expenses and your money rolls over to the next match and you get bumped up to the top of the list. Ours was $12,000 and we had our baby within 2 weeks. I am sure there are some out there cheaper, but I liked the security of not losing any money and an under 6 mo. wait.
