Has anyone had any experience both good and bad with Williams International Adoption?
I just read about this agency on the forums. I looked up their website and it stated that childeren adopted from Romania can be escorted to the U.S. which would be great for my husband and I.
I would greatly appreciate any info that could be given.

Hi Kelly - I just replied to your question about homestudies and then I saw this note. We used WIA in 1998 for our Russian adoption. In a word - they are WONDERFUL. A brief synopsis of our experience can be read at www.nhffoundations.net/celliohanafoundation. There also are pix of our son.
We had a nearly perfect experience. We spent 2 years researching agencies and interviewing both agencies and references. When we narrowed it down to 2 or 3, we checked with state licensing agencies, Better Business Bureaus, etc. for those agencies. WIA came out on top by a landslide. We are just extremely happy with them. I've heard a couple of complaints floating out there, but it sounded like those folks didn't trust anyone from the beginning so any little thing that didn't go the way they thought it should have, they tried to blame on the agency.
An international adoption is a wonderful experience, but to gain the full benefit, you have to be flexible, keep an open mind and ABOVE ALL ELSE - a SENSE OF HUMOR. Melody Smallwood handles their Russia program. She might also have Romania or else Patti Panni has it. They are both just wonderful ladies in our book. The agency used to have an introductory videotape. You might give them a call and see if the still do.
Please keep in mind only you can decide which agency is right for your family's needs and it won't be the same for everyone. I won't go as far as saying WIA is for you, but I will say we are COMPLETELY satisfied and are using them in our current pursuit of Son. No. 2.
Best of luck and God's blessings.

just a piece of information...romania adoptions are still closed. also under review is the entire process, of which i hear they will no longer allow escorts. my husband and i originally were adopting from romania, but when the ban on adoptions was not lifted in june, 2003 as they thought, we switched to russia. good luck with your decision.
