I live in Hot Springs now. Were u adopted from Hot Springs? I found records on my brother at the court house here. Ive been searching for my brother for about 15 yrs. It seems the more i find out the stranger it gets. If u would like to share ur infor maybe there is something i can do from this end. By the way my name is Barbara.
Hi Barbara! It's so nice of you to offer your help! I have had mixed feelings about finding out anything about my biological family. I've always know that I was adopted, so there were never any secrets, and my parents told me they would help me find them if I ever wanted to. I've just always felt like I'm where I need to be. I ran across this site, and think it's just wonderful! All points of view, and everyone is so open and all. I guess, now that I'm an adult, and have my own children, I'm curious. I'm a nurse, so I'd really like to have some medical history, now that I know how important it is. And....... I think I'd like to know if I have any siblings. You said that your story is getting stranger? I'd love to hear about it. I'm in the process of moving from WV to TN. We're moving Wed., so I'm not exactly sure where my info is about my adoption, but I'll look. Like I said, this has peaked my interest again. Thanks! Manda
Ok, I found my summary and birth certificate. They are all we have. My birth certificate is a certified copy, and has my adoptive parents listed. It lists Ouachita Memorial Hospital as place of birth. The certifier was John l. Haggard MD. My summary was about me at the time of adoption which was Nov. 17th, 1975. We call that A-Day, and celebrate it like another birthday. Anyway, It also gives a very brief summary of my biological parents. One thing that I found interesting is that she was a nurse's aide and her interests lie in that area. I didn't know that until I was already a Ceritified Nursing Assistant. Cool, huh? I know that she and my father were both 19. I don't know if any of this will help.... Thanks again, Manda

Sorry sweetie its taken me so long to reply, Ive been outta town and i just got back. There is something u can do that may help u. The SS Office has an open letter policy. What u have to do is call ur local ss office ask them about the open letter police tell them u are an adoptee and would like contact. It will cost u 25 dollars to do this. U have to write a letter to whom u wish to contact put it in an enevolope unsealed then put it in another one addressed to the address they give u. What this does is if they find who ur lookin for they will send ur letter to them and if they want contact they will have ur letter with contact information u provided. There is one drawback they cannot garrantee they can find who ur looking for and there is no refund. My mother and i just done this a few weeks ago. They also register u in the national soundex registry which is the largest free site i know of. Anyway hun good luck and wish u well in ur move. My story is long so as soon as i find time to write i will tell u about my search ;) :)
