A really good one to start with is becoming a classic in foster care, "Troubled Transplants" by Richard J. Delaney and Frank R. Kunstal.
I enjoy books like Murphy's Boy, One Child, and many more by an author I don't remember right now. She is a special education teacher turned therapist. Hers tell a captivating story.

The author of "One Child" etc. is Torey Haydn (or Hayden). She's written alot of interesting books about teaching children with disabilities.
