Explain to me why Missouri hides the adoption records. I just recently found out that my mother gave a son up for adoption, and the agency she used will only allow her to put a letter for him in his file. He has to look for her before they will give it to him. I as the sister who has just found out about him feels cheated. I am searching for him, but have no legal rights when it comes to finding him. WHY!!!!!!!!
I was born 9/67 in missouri were was your brother born (town)?
I was born in warrensburg. Hope this helps I found out that I have two possibly three siblings.Email me at lonewolf01844@hotmail.com in subject put sibling

I was adopted through St. Anthony's home for infants also. I paid for non-ID information, and paid more to have a search specialist look for my birth mother. They found her, but she had never told anyone about me & she refused to sign the papers releasing her name because of her fear of what her husband and family would think. Her refusal to sign papers means that I can't know anything about her and she doesn't get any info about me. Unfortunately, according to Missouri Law, if she dies without signing the papers, not a single sole ... not my half-siblings or anyone else ... will ever be able to open the records and find me. The court closed my case and I have to wait 3 more years before I try to contact my birth mother again. I am hoping that I can at least convince her to sign the papers with a stipulation that information is released after her death. In the meantime, I can either hire a private adoption search specialist (kinsolving.com has been recommended but they quoted me $3,500 to do the search -- money payable after they find the information), or I can wait and hope that Missouri finally changes their laws. I hope you find your brother. Good Luck
