Home Study QUestion

Someone on this board mentioned that you can get Foster Parent Licensing and the Home Study is FREE. What if you only wish to adopt and are not interested in Fostering? How can you still get it through Foster Care but then NOT be an active foster parent?

Is this even possible??

Yes.

That is exactly what we are doing. We are going through a private agency that works with the Pennsylvania foster system. We are qualified as foster parents, but we aren't going to take a placement of any child that isn't truly "adoptable".

Hi, I am also in Pa. The children and youth here wouldn't do it unless I was fostering. I guess they just don't have the time so you should call and ask first. It worked out for us because we found our agency that way.

We are working with Rainbow Adoptions in Pittsburgh.

(They are part of the Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center - - but we aren't native American... they work with anyone.)
