I haven't seen much activity on this forum and the previous thread has many subtopics on it, so I thought I would start a new thread with a roll call to start some discussions:
(1) Are you in the process of adopting, have you already adopted or both?
(2)Domestic or International? If domestic, foster care or newborn?. If international which country and age/gender?
(3)What state do you live in?
(4)Did you use Catholic agency for any part of the adoption?

1) Are you in the process of adopting, have you already adopted or both?
My Dh and I are in the process of adoption. We've chosen open domestic adoption, so we are in "the wait" for a expectant mother to choose our family for her child.
(2)Domestic or International? If domestic, foster care or newborn?. If international which country and age/gender?
Domestic, newborn to 2 years old
(3)What state do you live in?
California
(4)Did you use Catholic agency for any part of the adoption?
I wish we could have - there's only one Catholic affiliated program in CA, and its located 9 hours from our home (Catholic Charities - Diocese of San Diego).
We chose a agency closer to home - in San Francisco.

Yes, we went through Commonwealth Catholic Charities, but were about to switch to another agency when we matched with his birthparents.

Hello gang,
My husband and I are proud adoptive parents of a beautiful baby girl.
Our angel is just shy of 10 months.
We had a domestic infant adoption through Catholic Charities. We have a semi-open adoption and were involved in the last trimester of our daughters first mothers pregnancy. We were blessed to attend ultrasounds and visits at the hospital when our girl was born. We brought her home from the hospital at 72 hours.
We reside in Florida.
Great experience, true blessing. We would not have changed anything through this process.
We are currently waiting for our finalization hearing and our adoption will be complete!
Should we chooses to grow our family, I will use catholic charities again.
God Bless and Good Luck!!!
