I was called by my agency today, they have a child that was adopted internationally about a year ago and the family now wants to disrupt the adoption. The child is almost 5. The agency asked us if we would be interested and of course we said yes. I was wondering what should we expect as far as behavior problems, attachment problems? Hurt Child" It is a very good book, but it can be difficult to read because of the hurts of the children.

Adopting the hurt child is a very good book but there are others. Look on eeadopt.com book list. You did not say why the adoption was being disrupted, so the behaviors could be anything. I have been contacted about a few disruption. A few of the children had age approprate problems that the parents could not deal with. Sometimes it is the child's behavior but other times it is the parent's expectation that are the issue. Be sure you find out not only the child's past but exactly what the issues are now.
