But, my heart has been stolen by a 14yo girl in "Eastern Europe", and I am thinking it is probably Romania based on the information I've received so far. The agency was forthright in talking about potential rough spots due to her age, and I'm just trying to get in touch with anyone who has "been there, done that". We need to make up our minds quickly because of her age, so any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Our daughter has been home 4 months and is quite fluent in English already, has had very few problems adjusting and is a complete joy to us. We, too, were concerned about her age, and while she is not 14, she is older than we expected. There are many positives about adopting an older child. One is that their personalities are fully developed, they are already in school so you know of any learning disabilities they might have, and many other pluses. We are so pleased and are even considering doing it again as her little friend from her orphange has just come up for adoption through our agency and is her age and was even her roommate. Hope this helps.
