Have you requested your non-Identifying info? I was also born in NC and adopted in SC - DOB 7/10/74. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

I WROTE TO NC AND TO SC FOR INFO. NC SENT ME A LETTER SAYING THAT NO INFORMATION WAS FOUND FOR NC. SC SENT ME A COUPLE OF FORMS TO FILL OUT AND SEND BACK. I HAVEN'T SENT THEM BACK YET. DID YOU SEND FOR YOUR INFORMATION. I WAS TOLD THAT ALL MY INFO WOULD BE IN SC BUT IT LOOKS LIKE IF I WAS BORN IN NC THEY WOULD HAVE SOME TYPE OF INFO.
THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY
I haven't written to NC, because from my understanding, I was adopted through SC DSS. I wrote to them and got the forms, but I've yet to send them back with the $35 they are requesting. I've talked to others who said that SC DSS just whited out all of the info and that what was left didn't give them much to go on. I hope to get the paperwork out of here soon and I will let you know what I find out.
JUST FROM THE LITTLE BIT OF INFORMATION THAT I CAN REMEMBER MY ADOPTED MOM TALK ABOUT I WAS ALSO ADOPTED THROUGH SC DSS. I HAVEN'T PUSHED MY ADOPTED MOM FOR INFORMATION BECAUSE SHE IS ALMOST 80 YEARS OLD AND NOT IN THAT GOOD OF HEALTH. I DON'T WANT HER TO KNOW THAT I AM LOOKING FOR MY BIRTH PARENTS. I HAD ALWAYS SAID THAT I WOULD NEVER LOOK FOR MY BIRTH PARENTS BUT WHEN I HAD A MISCARRIAGE IN OCTOBER 2003 I CHANGED MY MIND BECAUSE I WANTED MEDICAL INFORMATION.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND OUT ANYTHING.
Hopefully you are still around. Alot has happened. But I wanted to let you know that SC DSS had my non-ID info. However it took about a year to get it back. If you haven't sent away for it yet, get going. It's a long wait - but hopefully will give you some of the answers you seek!
Best of luck to you!
