Hi ! I am an adoptive mom who lives in the Northestern part of the USA. I utilized an adoption agency out west and my daughter was born down south. (I covered the country on this one !! lol)
I have been talking with some wonderful folks from PA who also used the same agency from CA. One of the things we have talked about is the lack of support groups in the area, and once you get the call that your child is born, your basically are on your own !
I was wondering if anyone is:
1. Interested in starting some support groups in the area of King of Prussia, Valley Forge area?
2. If anyone from PA utilized Adoption Network from CA ?
3. Or if anyone knows of any groups in the King of Prussia, Valley Forge area? (or within a 20 mile radius)
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback ! :)
You know you have my vote!! We may be the only two people in the group, but it's still OK with me!! Hope to hear some input from others soon!

Hi all ! Well- we are getting a few responses! Woohoo ! I am in the process of contacting some people - finding out how to set up the group... places we could have it cost free... and if there are any legal areas we need to be informed about.... hopefully we can get something set up by the summer.. for a picnic? I will keep everyone posted... and if you have any info please share! Sorry I haven't been in touch... but the past few weeks have been very busy baby proofing my house since my little girl is now trying to stand up and crawling all over ! :) hope all is well with everyone... talk to you soon !
I am an adoptive mom of one year old daughter. I am very interested in getting together with other adoptive moms!! Many groups are geared towards international adoption. Other's are evening groups that have a facilitator. I enjoy spending evenings as a family and have been wanting a play group type thing with other adoptive moms. My hope was that it would be a play group for children who happen to be adopted. I get together with another adoptive mom of a one year old boy in our area.
I live in Erdenheim-about 1/2 hour east of K o P-just northwest of the city line. I am definitely interested in starting a group. Please let me know.
I don't come to this site often, so if you want, you can email me at pfalcone@hotmail.com.

Hi...I'm in Northumberland County, a good hour or two from King of Prussia. Anyone else in Northumberland? Has anyone heard of a group in this area? (Central PA) THANKS!:D
We are from a town in Montgomery County PA, about 20 minutes from King of Prussia, and have been trying to adopt for approx 1 year. We have had a few situations fall apart and although we know it will happen for us some day, we are getting extremely discouraged. We would love to be able to talk with some potential/adoptive parents in our area. I don't post very often but I'm always here reading up on things.

I live in Montgomeryville PA and have two adopted children a 3 year biracial son and a daughter adopted from Peru 15 years ago. It is important to belong to a support group. When my daughter was a baby we had yearly meetings but I am trying to get her together with some Peruvian adopted teens now.
We also belong to a great group for my son. It is for famlies of transracial adoptions. It is called FAITH. famlies alltogether in their hopes. We have a great group. We meet monthly any sometimes moms just get together for lunch. We even go on trips together. It is good for the kids to see other famlies like themselves.
Babs..I would be very interest in joing your group. I have a 7 year old biracial daughter and a year old AA boy..THis would be a great support...How do I go about joining?
the email address for anyone intrested in going the transracial adoption group in the surburban philadelphia area is:
FaithFamilies@verizon.net
It is a great group of varied families from singles to couples and age group of kids and parents. My husband and I are 50 and we don't feel strange there. There are other families that have older grown children and started again as we did. Hope to meet you one day.
Hi everyone ! I have been talking with others on another thread.. under PA adoptive parents called Lets introduce ourselves... and we are trying to plan a get together in Septemeber some time ! If interested.. join us under that thread ! :) Hope to see you there

It is just as I suspected! No one has heard of Northumberland County! LOL :)) Well, we do exist and if there is a PA support group...we'd like to know about it. Dh and I are very interested in sibling groups, so that means older children. What ever God has planned for us is OKAY with us! :)
tGbtg- I have heard of it... not sure where it is tho ! lol....
We are planning a get together once or twice a year .. maybe at Valley Forge Park for all PA members ! This would be like a picnic of some sort... maybe in the spring and one in the fall?
We are looking at a play group monthly for those close by.. but wanted to do something for everyone who lives in PA and is here on the forum ! Hope everyone can attend... I will be posting details under the lets introduce ourselves thread :) Am open to any suggestions or ideas !
