My question is about my son. His father has made it clear that he has no obligation for support after the kids are 18, and therefore will not help at all with their college, but will not allow my son to be adopted by some of OUR mutual close friends in Arizona, who are offering to pay for my son's full four years of college, if he attends in Arizona as a resident student.
We are in Northern CA and my son wants to be adopted as soon as possible by the friends in Arizona for college and residency purposes.
Can he do this himself now or at age 18 before he graduates from highschool?
he could do what he want's when he turn's 18. father has no say so because he 18 and it's his choice. but, the law i know say's that the father of the child has to pay child support if the child is still in school.he also has to pay child support if the child decides to go to college.
