Hi everyone who is getting started or is already in the process on a Panamanian adoption. We just recently switched from Russia to Panama and are in the first steps of the adoption process. We were with European Adoptions and were very happy with them, but unfortunately they don't do Panama adoptions. I have read many of the forum messages and is alot of information to digest.
I see many of you are currently working with an agency or independetly and the few questions I am going to ask is based on the true accredibility of the agencies. I have understood that The Ministry in Panama does not recognized ANY agencies. This agencies are represented by attorneys in Panama and that Panama does not charge any fees for their services. So why is it that some of this in country fees charged by the agencies are so high? Has anyone seen the accredited certificates for this agencies, like Faith International, Commonwealth, World Partners? I am asking because I would think an agency would be safer. And because Panama has different requirements I wasn't sure whether independent or agency would be the best route. I have two attorneys who have responded to my e-mails with info but since I am just getting sterted I wanted to get some feed back. Thank you all.
PS, if anyone has heard or know of this attorneys let me know
Michael Pierce or Alejandro Augustin Moreno both from Panama.
