Hi, all!
In light of Lauri's problems over the TPR, it made me wonder who tells the family when it's time to travel?
I assumed it was a formal notice by the country themselves. But does it come from the agency instead?
Any list of questions (even the obvious ones) we should ask our agency before we go? I'mcompiling a notebook here.
Lauri, I am so sorry this is happening to you, but I think it's a blessing that you're sharing it all with us. It's a good learning lesson.
Even those of us who are familiar with Panama can use a refresher course now and then on dealing with Panama official procedures. That's an oxymoron, for sure!
Til later,
Robin
Robin-
I'm 90% sure that it is your agency that decides that based partly on the powers that you have given the attorney to do things for you. I do know with my agency we signed at least 2 papers that gave him power of attorney for us in Panama. THis is more then what is in the standard dossier. So with both our agency's adoption by the time the parents got to Panama - the child was legally theirs already. However, generally it means referral to travel time is longer.
