Have you hard anything back?
I filed a siblnig waiver along with a request for non-id info back in September and just last week got a letter back stating that I couldn't get the info but our mother could, so I mailed a photocopy of her ID (I sent mine to Cty of Los Angeles Dept of Children and Family Services Post Adoption 3530 Wilshire Blvd LA VA 90010 attn: Angelica Petitt... she's awesome) and she's sending me the non-id info as soon as she gets it. I mailed it off today so I should have it in about a week (3 days each way).
Angelica said she's also including some info on a new law or part of a law in Cali put into effect in January that, if I understood correctly, will have the court, upon petition from you, send a 3rd party to contact the sibling... this is something they didn't do before. Before it was you file yours and just hope they've filed theirs. My brother hadn't, but now that it's past January, I can petition to court to open the record and appoint someone to contact him and see if he wants to file a sibling waiver. That lets them know someone is looking for them!
Best of all, she said she believes it's free!
If you want more info, e-mail me at findmybrother at cableone dot net. I'll relay what I've gotten!
Best of luck!!
