I got my non Id from the state of tennessee. I am looking for my daughter but the non id didn't help much at all. I am at a stand still. The only thing that it said was that her adopted parents are homemaker and her dad was a truck driver. It also said she has one brother. It said that she goes to Chruch of Christ. There is no name her parents. Could someone give me some ideas of what to do next.

Have you taken the next step through the state to have them try to locate/contact them? I am an adoptee searching for my birth family and recently received my non-id info (which actually had names). Anyway, I paid the fee and am now waiting for the state to try to locate them and see if I can contact them. I think the fee is $135 and they are about 4 months behind (my turn should come in September!!). I would recommend this route. Since you are her birth mother, can you get a copy of her adopted birth certificate? I can get a copy of my original one so I'm assuming you should be able to get what you need.
Good luck in your search!!

Hey guys.. dont get discouraged..I just completed this route and was reunited with my brother last Friday. I petitioned the state in Febuary 2011 and he just contacted me. He was contacted by the state and informed that someone was looking. From there he searched his own name on the net and found my posting on several diff. adoption registries. There he found my contact info and emailed me. That took about 2 months off the process. Anyway you need to contact Kristen Staton 615-253-4676. She works in the post adoption unit for the state of TN. Post on as many registries that are free that you can. If you know a city that you were born in post a thread on the Topix forum that you were born in. You never know who may see it and remember something. If I can be of any further assistance please email me!
