I am working on my daughter's lifebook. I am almost finished but I wanted to add a page at the beginning that kind of explained what adoption is... something like... Adoption is one way that God makes a family. Does anybody have any ideas for how to word it, or other things to add to that page? My daughter is only 3 so I don't want it too difficult to understand.
Thanks,
Tammy

one thing that I remember growing up as an adoptee was that my mother used to tell me I wasn't born I was chosen. The other phrase she would tel me was I didn't grow in her tummy but grew under her heart and her heart is much bigger than her tummy. I hope this helps. Iam in the starting process of adopting a child and think your scrapbook is a great idea. I had a baby book that stated that I was adopted. In my personal opionion it always made me feel very special.
Good luck with your book.

A really nice saying that I've always liked is...
"Not flesh of my flesh,
Nor bone of my bone,
But still miraculously my own,
And don't forget for a single minute,
You didn't grow under my heart but in it."
You could go on to say that... (I'm taking liberty to reference God since you did in your example...I hope that is ok.)
"It is through the miracle of adoption that you are part of our family, and I thank God every day for this blessing."
