We just recieved a copy of our home study and it is 2 1/2 pages long. Another agency that I talked to said it should be around 10 pages. We are feeling very cheated. Not to mention that it took 7 LONG months for them to get their act together and finish our home study. I'm so frustrated. Any advice?

I'm really sorry that it took so long for them to complete the homestudy....it seems like they could have completed it LONG before 7 months...things change so quickly. A homestudy is supposed to be reflective of your current life.
Our homestudy was around 10 pages. It had a lot of information in it. It took her (our caseworker) two weeks to complete it!
Good Luck with your upcoming adoption!

I feel like screaming! Not only was it not as long as it should have been, but a lot of the information was not correct. They also had a lot of typos. I've called them and they are fixing the mistakes but are not really willing to add more information because they feel like it is complete. I think our home study is representative of their typical work. AAAARG! I'm just hoping that the other agencies we apply at will request a lot more info from the agency so they will have a clue about how deficient the document is. All I know is that we'll never use them in future adotptions.
If this is indicative of how they run their business...you may want to consider looking for another agency. Your homestudy should be able to be used or at least updated (for a minimal fee, possibly for free) at a different agency. You have a lot of steps still to complete before your child is home and legally yours. Basically there are a lot of things that can STILL go wrong. If you already don't trust the agency...you might want to cut your losses and keep looking!
We had a bad experience with one of our networking agencies...it took us 1 1/2 years to finalize our adoption...with a lot of heartache in between!
What ever you decide...best of luck!!!!
