Are you getting Private Message Solicitations?

Recently, there have been a number of complaints regarding Private Message Solicitations, and I was wondering if this is something that is plaguing everyone, or just a select few. Naturally, I dont get the messages, so I never really knew it was a problem.

The kinds of messages I am talking about are the ones that request you to contact someone in a foreign country regarding an inheritance or request you to visit their online store҅and more recently, there have been reports of members being solicited to visit the adoption section of another forum.

EmailthatŒs something differentright now, I am just interested in Private Message issues.

Also, when you get a solicitation, do you report it or just blow it off?

i received one a couple of days ago, but noticed the user was banned. i just deleted the pm, figuring you already knew about it.

I have yet to see anything like that but will definitely report it if I do!

I have received three in the past week or so. The one about joining a group on another forum. Opened the first and then deleted it and deleted the others unopened when I recognized the source. I didn't realize this was something to report but I will report any in the future. Thanks for looking into it.

Thanks for the feedback so far!

There isnt a "report to moderator" option in a private message...which is a bummer...so, if you get something that you think needs to be reported, forward the Private Message in full to me or Kiwi so we can take care of it.

To forward a Private Message, simply click forward at the bottom of the screen and type in the name you wish to forward it to.

Bumping this thread because Ive received complaints (via 3rd hand) that PM Harassment (soliciting dates, money, email friendship) is running rampant on the forums yet again.

Remember that as moderators (and administrators) we DO NOT have access to your private messages, therefore, we are totally unaware of violations to the Terms of Service that are sent via PM unless someone notifies us.

If you are getting unsolicited PMҒs from members asking you to send money, go on a date, be their friend and hang out on their message board or any other silly thing, please forward the message, in its entirety, to BrandyHagz, Crick, Jensboys, kiwi or MrsSmith.

All of the moderators do their very best to keep this type of thing at baybut unfortunately, because we have the title of Moderator, we donŒt get these types of messages to often.
