While posting to another thread, I started to wonder when people have in their signature lines about Home Study begins, at what point in the process were they?
We're working with an Adoption Advocate for our Home Study and post-placement visits, so we haven't picked an agency yet (hoping that we'll be able to work with more than one). I first talked to them a little over 3 weeks ago and maybe by the end of this week it will have been 3 weeks since she e-mailed me the paperwork that we needed to fill out....contract with them, authorizations that needed to go to them and sent to CYFD, autobiographies, reference summary and letters, requests for employment documentation, financial statements and the like...
A packet with the signed & notarized stuff was sent back to them on Friday (as well as CYFD authorizations & fingerprints sent out) and another packet with Dr summary & autobiographies were mailed out this Monday.
We have a time set up this Saturday for our "couple's" and both individual meetings...
So....back to my question...Have we officially started our Home Study by filling out the paperwork, or will it officially start on Saturday?????

but, it sounds to me like you have already started the process. Is the s/w coming to your house for the interviews?
That is what our s/w will do on the 20th. She will look at where we live and ask us questions about our marriage, our lives growing up, how we plan on raising an adopted child, etc. That is what the s/w told me anyway.
Being so new at this, like we are, I am curious as to see what some of the veterans have to say!!

Kim! I just PM'd you from the other thread!
No, we're going down to ABQ. (oops, sorry! We live in the nw section of NM and the advocate is in Albuquerque...ABQ...about a 3 hr drive each way)...We'll do the interviews there, and hopefully at that time, we'll set up a home visit before she leaves on vacation on the 20th!
