Are children adopted thru the state still entitled for Medicaid?
My case worker is telling me that my kids will not be eligible. Is there anything else I need to be aware of? Thx....
Don't believe all that you hear. I would look at www.nacac.org/subsidy_stateprofiles.htlm. This is a great site where you can look under each state and see what is available. It pays to look up all you can about subsidy before you sign on the dotted line.
We live in Missouri but, our children got to keep their medicaid even though they are also on our insurance now. We use our insurance first and whatever it doesn't pay, Medicaid will. You never know what the future holds. They still receive a monthly support check from the state and we also got to keep their respite.
I remember reading somewhere that they can't use your income as a reason to deny benefits. Whenever you adopt, there is an adoption agreement that you have to sign. You can fill in the blanks and ask for whatever you want. All they can do is say no.
I heard of a case where the adoptive parents of a sibling group even got funds somehow to build onto their house. Does anyone know anything about this.
