I was born Feb 25, 1961 to a woman who called herself Barbara Mary Neal (I might have the spelling right, I can't find my original birth certificate right now, but I have it). Anyway, according to my orginal B.C., I was her 5th child, and that she had had one fetal death prior to my birth. I had heard rumors that she was married when I was concieved, and that her husband was not my father, which caused a divorce. I do not know if Neal is her maiden name or married name, I assume it is maiden. I heard she was living in Great Falls for a while when I was a child, and was working for local Dr.s. My adoptive mom called one and asked if he remembered a Barbara Neal from the early '60's and he said he remembered a Barbara, but her name was Boucher (pronounced Boo-shay). The last he had heard of her was she moved to the Kalispell area. I have searched and searched and found zero trace of her. I got the book "YOU CAN FIND ANYBODY" by Joe Cullington (or whatever it is) and it was no help. My adoptive dad died of cancer in 2001, and I just buried my adoptive mom March 24, 2004. My only adoptive sibling died in 1972. I have a 16 year old daughter with me and a 23 year old I placed for adoption in 1981 (who I have found). Family is very important to me and I need to find at least my 1/2 siblings if nothing else... Any suggestions? I have one adoptive aunt who is very close to my heart, but the rest of my "relatives" have kind of left me hanging in the breeze. I don't want money or anything form these people, I just want to be part of a blood famly. My adoptive parents were wonderful, they let me know from the very beginning that I was adopted, but that they CHOSE me. They really made me feel loved. I am still greiving the loss of my mom, we were extremely close, and we didn't have a lot of time to prepare for her death. She was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in October 2003.
I have written to the talk show hosts, called them when they ask to help reunite people etc., but I feel like they must be thinking who cares about a 43 year old woman finding her long lost birth family...besides shes from Montana....don't they still ride horses there and fight the Injuns (NO OFFENSE INTENDED)?
ANy help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for listening to me.
