Are there single adoptive parents out there?

I'm new to this and would like any info or guidence in regards to a single woman seeking an adoptive child or children.

Hi, I'm Michelle. I'm waiting to find out if they are going to let me take the classes or not now.

I was an approved foster/adoptive parent in California with my ex-husband. We got a call that we had been matched with a child but at that point we decided we were going to get a divorce :(

Anyway, we've been separated for a year and 9 months and divorced for 9 months. But they have a rule saying you can't foster/adopt until 18 months have passed from a change in marital status.

She said they are so desperate for families though that it might be waived, or they might let me do all the paperwork and home study and then just wait til that 18 month mark.

I'm going to call back on Monday. I'd love to talk to anyone else who is single and has adopted or wants to.

hi im a birthparent i justed to let you know that my two kids were adopted by a sigle woman and her daughter they a great my kids are happy and healthy good luck:)
