Hi Tanya,
I tried to respond to the e-mail address in your message, and also tried to call the number that you provided, but neither of them is working.
I don't want to give you any false hope, but I am helping an adoptee to find his birth family, and I found a few interesting coincidences that make me wonder if perhaps Alan Thomson might be his father. His name now is Christopher Alan, and he was adopted in California on 01/20/1967.
He was told that he was born 11/26/1965 and that his name at birth was Sean P Gonzales. He was also told that his father's name is David Gonzales and his mother's maiden name is Miller; that they were college students 19 and 20 at the time; and that the baby was born at St Anne's Maternity Home in Los Angeles.
There is a birth certificate on file in California for a Sean P Gonzales who was born on 11/26/1965, with the same persons named as his parents. However, there is also a birth certificate on file in California for a Sean Gonzales who was born on 02/03/1965, which is the date that you said he had a son born Christopher Alan Baxter. I just came upon this additional information, so I don't have any information for the parents on the 02/03/1965 birth certificate.
It is your Christopher Alan with the birthdate of 02/03/1965 and a Sean Gonzales with that same birthdate, and the fact that his name is Christopher Alan now that got me wondering. Very often the information given to adoptees is totally false, and this makes for a difficult situation all around, when trying to search.
Is there anything that I have written that rings a bell? Like I said, it could be a total fabrication, but that's all the information that he has to go on.
Thanks,
Amy
