I have a question about the registry. Do you have to see a counselor when you send in the application or when both parties have signed in with them??? Unsure as to whether I need to schedule one now or wait until my birth son and I have both applied.
Birthson (Jonathan) born May 18, 1986
At Willis Knighton Hospital in shreveport LA,
Adopted through VOA in shreveport.
Thank you for any advice you have

I joined the registry approximately 1 year ago and I did NOT have to see a counselor prior to joining. I was told that they had not updated many sources of information (website, packet, etc.), but they were only requiring you to see a counselor AFTER a match was made. Best of luck with the Registry. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I'm by no means an expert, but I don't mind sharing my experiences.

thank you so much traveling. I always welcome any advice I can get.
I understand that now my bson want to see the letters I have written. this may be the beginning of something for me. I now have some glimmer of hope. No matter how much time it takes. As 18 is still a young age. But I would like to join the registry just in case. What could it hurt right?
