I am looking for any information that may lead to discovering my birth family and heritage. I was born on May 26, 1973 according to what is stated on my birth certificate. I was born in Cornerbrook Newfoundland and was in a foster home for approximately 3 months until September of 73. I was given the name at birth of Dominic and last initial 'K' they do not give the entire last name. After I was adopted this name was changed.
I have the understanding that I had approximately 4 or 5 older birth siblings at the time of my birth of the same mother but not the same father. I am eagerly seeking any assistance whatsoever in discovering any information that may be of interest to me in regards to my last name, birth siblings, birth parents, possible foster home, and whatever else anyone may feel may assist me. I have had a fantastic life and am a very happy person who wishes to discover my heritage.
I was born in Cornerbrook in 1952 and was adopted in 1953. Just got sealed records and have mothers name....how did you discover that you had siblings?
I am just beginning my search...how did you find your family in Cornerbrook?
Thanks!

Hi Delan, Thanks for responding. I was told by my aparents that I had 4 or 5 siblings and apparently it is accurate. I do not know my last name except for the letter 'K' . I am anxious to locate any birth family. I have not found anyone or any extra info out as of yet. I would love to get ahold of some sealed records though.
Good Luck to you on your search and you never know we may be connected somewhere down the line. Afterall it is a small world.:)
Are you sure that the letter K is the first initial of your last name and not a middle name? I found my birthfamily as I was also born in Cornerbrook in 1950. It was explained to me that if your mother is not married to the father at your time of birth, there would be nothing on your birth certificate identifying him. ie. name, initials or anything else. Just the way they did it back then. Good Luck.
seems like both of you got some good leads.ive been trying to find my birth bother who was adopted in 1964.with info as to your last name why not apply to vital stats for your info as for the other person why not check with post adoption they have a sibling registry there maybe some sibling has registered looking for you.i have been registered there for past 2 years still waiting and hoping someday my brother will inquire there but he may not know he has a sister.good luck to both of you.
