Can anyone tell me how the process works when you take custody of your siblings.
My husbands mother has a second set of children ages 4 and 8. She has had several mental illnesses for several years now and wants to give my husband and I custody of the kids because she just cannot handle the stress of parenting. The father is out of the picture totally. Do we need to do an adoption or can she just sign her parental rights to us. Also can she ever get her rights back if she gets rehabilitated? We live in California.
