Looking for direction

Hello, I would like to also know if there is any way to go about getting a child without going to an adoption agency? My husband and I also would like to adopt and we are from India. Therefore, we would like to adopt a child whose parents have similar origin. The alternative to domestic adoption is International adoption. Intl adoption, however will take upto 3 years. Don't want to wait that long. We are wondering how can we find people with similar background and who are looking towards adoption for their infant. Any information would be helpful. We would prefer not to go through an agency because of costs. Our homestudy and dossier is already ready. One set of our dossier has already been sent to India but the wait is too long to bear. Can't take it anymore. Thanks Rohini
